This course will teach you the fundamentals of phlebotomy. A phlebotomy technician is a healthcare provider responsible for drawing blood—for testing purposes, transfusions, research, or blood donations. Phlebotomists prep lab equipment, collect blood specimens, and assist patients throughout the blood draw process. They are responsible for proper handling and storage of specimens, as well as performing other simple lab tests and database entry.
