This elective course equips medical assistants who want to specialize in obstetrics and gynecology, in order to work under the direction of an Obstetrician or Gynecologist. These professionals are responsible for preparing patients for obstetric and gynecological examinations, obtaining vital signs, and to assist doctors and nurses in performing maternal and newborn nursing care. This course will prepare you to work in an OB/GYN outpatient office or the labor and delivery floor of a hospital.
